BIOGRAPHY

Juha is a trained actor who started his vocal studies in his late thirties. He did his Master of art -examination in acting in Tampere university`s departement of perfoming arts 1993. He has been engaged in Tampere theatre, St. Michel`s theatre, Kajaani citytheatre and Finnish National Opera. As a freelance he has done dozens of interesting roles forexample in Savonlinna Opera Festival, Ilmajoki Music Festival, Opera of Oulu, Tampere Opera, Opera of Kotka and Aino Ackte`s Music Festival in Helsinki.

Juha´s most important vocal instructors have been Raimo Laukka who did an international career as a baritone, especially Verdi roles, Juha Uusitalo who sang principal roles all over the world including New York Metropolitan opera, Staatsoper Wien and Milan`s La Scala and Jukka Rasilainen who is remarkable international bassbaritone especially in Wagner repertoire. And last but not least Irina Gavrilovici who is remarkable vocal instructor all over Europe.
